Thank you for taking the time to consider the difference your donation will make to the work we do in support of:
Agnes Mwakatuma – Director of BMM UK.
Last year 2020, Carib and Co Brunch and BOXPARK were able to come together and collaborate in September and October 2020 to offer 50 local black businesses a space to sell and exhibit their work and supporting them during the pandemic to continue their work locally. We were the first to offer a first Black British marketplace at BOXPARK and raised an incredible £3,400 for local charity Black Minds Matter UK. They provide free mental health resources to the black community.
We want to secure additional donations to ensure that all small businesses who may be struggling or facing financial hardship as a result of the pandemic can take part in free events and free workshops. We believe that small businesses should not have to pay to showcase their work.
With funding from Harrow Giving, designed to bring awareness of Covid-19 and increase the uptake of Covid-19 within the borough of Harrow and local community. We were able to support local artists and creatives to bring awareness of covid-19 through art, comedy, dance, music and poetry. We also provided small local businesses a free space to exhibit their work at our events.
On Christmas Day 2020, Carib and Co Brunch was able to donate food to children and families in need. In February 2021, Jade the Director and Founder of Carib and Co Brunch was able to volunteer with charity Brixton Soup Kitchen who provides hot meals to children and families in need.
We want to secure additional donations to ensure that all children whose families may be struggling or facing financial hardship as a result of the pandemic can take part in free fun activities and eat healthily too.
In summer 2021, we are collaborating with Harrow Wins to create a great initiative to our local community whilst helping raise funds to help support the furtherance and objects of Carib and Co Brunch Community Interest Company.
Harrow Wins is an exciting weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in Harrow. All good causes supported by the lottery will benefit Harrow and its residents. A weekly draw takes place every Saturday night. Match all 6 numbers and you win the JACKPOT. From every £1 ticket you buy, 50p supports Carib and Co Brunch, 10p will go to local good causes in Harrow and improving our community. Tickets for the lottery cost just £1 per week, with a top prize of £25,000!
Later this year and into 2022, Carib and Co Brunch will continue to work with schools, children and young people by offering them tailored support to combat issues related to mental health and well-being, physical activity, youth violence and gang related activity, their employment aspirations and inequalities
