What we do

Carib and Co Brunch is a community interest company and not for profit. A Company Limited by Guarantee to the benefit of the community.
  • Running a brunch event and brunch festival event at local popular areas and venues. We aim to provide a strong community focus, providing entertainment and a market style store service to local residents and holidaymakers.
  • Running pop up shops by retailing local products, including arts, clothes, greeting cards, jewellery, local produce, food and drinks plus more and providing a home delivery service for online orders to the local community.
  • Visiting local schools and training organisations who would benefit from a range of educational entertainment by running quarterly musical showcase with a strong educational focus and providing services and training to students and educators.
  • Providing educational audios, blogs and books that will benefit the local community, financial, education and health care organisations.
  • Providing workshops and training to support the community with direct experience of finance issues, mental health issues, covid-19 issues and much more.
  • We help to raise money to support local youth development work, whilst acting as a community hub for the community.
  • 100% of your donations helps to support the furtherance of the objects of Carib and Co Brunch Community Interest Company.
  • 100% of proceeds from our Carib and Co Brunch merchandise sales helps to support the furtherance of the objects of Carib and Co Brunch Community Interest Company.
  • 7% of proceeds from our online sales shop will support the furtherance of the objects of Carib and Co Brunch Community Interest Company.

Brunch Events

Carib and Co Brunch provides an array of activities, talks, workshops, training, entertainment and a market style store service that aims to benefit the local community, local schools and training organisations. This includes a ‘brunch event’, ‘brunch festival event’ and a ‘musical showcase school assembly’ and provides the local community with food, fashion shows, live music, art, dance, poetry, comedy with a hint of cultural, financial and mortgage education.

Facilitating Growth

In addition, the organisation facilitates a strong platform for small businesses and creative practitioners in arts, fashion, music and financial education to showcase their excellence; thus creating networking in growth.

Local Support

This in turn benefits the local people and local economy through the provision of employment, work experience opportunities and raising money to support local youth development work; whilst also acting as a social community hub for local people.

Educational Support

Carib and Co Brunch also provides educational audios, videos, blogs and books that aims to benefit the local community with cultural, financial and mortgage education whilst also promoting people’s experience of current issues such as mental health, Covid-19, relationships, financial issues and much more.

School Events

Carib and Co Brunch also visits schools by providing an educational entertainment experience to students, training and talks to staff and students as well as sells products on behalf of small businesses, by providing school pop-up market style initiatives that help to promote and grow British businesses. We have seen an increasing school demand in local, personalised and experiential brands.

 

Meet the founder and director

Jade Weir-Reid is a qualified secondary Design and Technology teacher possessing over five years teaching experience. Jade has experience teaching food and nutrition, textiles and resistant materials. Since 2019, she has also gained experience teaching English, Literacy, Computing and Art. 

Jade studied at London College of Communication (UAL) completing degrees in both Art and Design and Graphic Design. 

Jade gained recognition for an array of striking and thought-provoking photographs. Determined to succeed, she volunteered as a photographer for African Fashion Week London, which featured and showcased the works of African designers such as Ninola and Eldimaa. 

This determination, coupled with her enthusiasm and photographic skills, has opened many doors for Jade. Jade’s work has been shown on the BBC Africa news site and in a variety of magazines and newspapers; including Pride, Black Beauty, Afro Hair and The Harrow Observer. 

Jade went on to be involved in London Fashion Week, Britain and Ireland’s next Top model, The Calo Festival, Top Model of Colour and Fashion Finest. 

Stanmore College added her to the AoC’s new Hall of fame, known as its Roll of Honour. Their vision is to see great colleges transforming lives and communities through teaching and learning for student success.

Jade is also actively involved with the University of the Arts (UAL) Alumni of Colour Association and has spoken about her journey at the AOCA winter showcase in November 2019.

Jade has obtained extensive experience as a photographer, teacher and also volunteers in her local community by organising fundraising events that support local charities, small businesses and the local community.
